In the Foundation Phase we run an initiative that allows us to utilise the outdoor environment as an extension of the classroom. We have developed activities that challenge the children and encourage them to extend their problem solving abilities, in addition we focus on using the key skills of - communication, numeracy, physical, knowledge and understanding of the world, multicultural and bilingualism, creativity and personal and social.

The children are provided with waterproof outfits and have access to a wooded area, a meadow and open grassed areas around the school. These area provided the children with a variety of learning opportunities which are linked with our topic for the term.

We go out to Forest School in all weathers except for high winds and storms.
